My mom and I are excited to introduce the Indian and Mediterranean inspired 7 Monk’s Cafe.
Our Café is inspired by the culinary experiences from our stays and travels in Asia, Europe, Mediterranean Coast and the US! Our Indian menu is driven from our roots - growing up in India amongst the flavors and aromas of spices, bazaars and cuisines. Our recipes are from my grandma’s and mom’s kitchen- it’s the food we serve in our homes! Our Mediterranean menu flows from our travel to Spain. We serve authentic Indian chai, lassis, & plenty of vegetarian, vegan & gluten free options! |

From Mumbai to downtown New Braunfels, our street inspired pakoras- spinach or onions dipped in a spiced chickpea batter & deep fried- it sure to hit the spot! Try it with our house made sauces for an authentic taste of India! Our chicken tikka meatballs will please the whole table- the kids will love the house made creamy yellow sauce & warm naan, the parents will love the tender meatballs topped with crushed almonds! It’s a house specialty, here at 7 Monks Café! Our signature samosas- think Indian empanadas- locally sourced, hand-crafted & vegan are stuffed with potatoes, peas & spices- served with house made savory cilantro & sweet tamarind chutney. Looking for a tex-mex flavor in downtown New Braunfels? Why not try our curry queso? Made with delicious melted cheese, Indian spices & served with tortilla chips! Adults & kids alike can’t keep their hands off our signature fries- they hit the oil only after they have been ordered so they are never soggy or simply sitting out. Order them plain for the kids- looking for an Indian twist?- try our masala fries! For a truly decadent meal, our Greek fries are a must! Our food is made with spices, warmth & plenty of love like any good comfort food should- spices such as cumin, turmeric, chili powder which are not only savory and embracing but also naturally help build stronger immune systems.
All of our base sauces are made fresh, daily and all of them are vegetarian & gluten free. Add your choice of protein to any sauce- we offer the following:

Looking to feed the kids? Our wraps are a sure fire hit! These Mediterranean tacos include your choice of protein choices of beef, chicken or falafel (vegan meatballs made with chickpeas & spices)all wrapped in warm pita bread- served with house made white sauce & red chili paste. Be sure to add an side of Greek fries to your order! We fry our fries on demand, sprinkle light salt & top with plenty of feta cheese & white sauce (garlic mayo sauce)- trust us- it’s a well deserved treat!

On a diet? Our healthy salad bowl will keep you filled & on track with your diet plans! On a bed of fresh lettuce, we toss on tomatoes, onions, olives, your choice of protein & feta cheese!
We offer numerous keto friendly items on our menu- order most curries with no rice & you are set. House keto favorites include butter chicken masala shrimp tikka masala & paneer korma! The beef shawarma salad bowl is another fantastic keto lunch option- plentiful, filling & utterly delicious!
Nestled in the heart of downtown New Braunfels, our menu offers plenty of options for gluten intolerant guests. All of our curries & classics & protein options are gluten friendly, along with our fragrant basmati rice. Our beef shawarma & chicken shawarma, served as a platter (please ask for no pita) or in a salad bowl are sure to keep you coming back for more! Let us know, while ordering, if you or a member of your party has celiac- we will wash all our pans/ utensils & eliminate cross contamination as much as possible. As a facility with gluten, we cannot fully guarantee a gluten free environment, though we will certainly try our best!
