Love the outdoors and would want to explore Texas more? Visit these local hikes in New Braunfels and its surrounding areas. We’re sure you’ll see some of the best views the state has to offer.

1. Panther Canyon at Landa - New Braunfels
​
This trail in Landa Park features a lake and lots of wildlife. It’s primarily used for walking, running, nature trips, and bird watching. Dogs are welcome as long as they’re on a leash.

2. Dry Comal Trail - New Braunfels
This trail is open for hike and bike traffic only. Enjoy wildlife viewing, geocaching, and mountain biking. When on the trail, be alert, keep the trails clean, keep your paw friends on a leash, and pick up animal waste.

3. Guadalupe Park Trail - Canyon Lake
​This 2.9km trail features a lake. It is primarily used for hiking, running, and bird watching. The best months to do your outdoor activities are from October to December. Your paw-friends can also enjoy the trail with you as long as they’re kept on leash.

4. Madrone Trail - Canyon Lake
This 12.2km trail features a lake and offers different activity options year-round. Dogs can also join you to explore this trail as long as they’re on a leash.

5. Overlook Park - Canyon Lake
Visit this park from August to September to really enjoy what it has to offer. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching.

6. Dante’s Trail through Purgatory Creek Natural Area - San Marcos

This trail in San Marcos features a river and is best used from April to October. Most of the trail is rocky and choppy. Remember to bring plenty of water as there is no water at any of the trailheads.

7. Spring Lake Preserve - San Marcos
This trail is perfect for all hiking skill levels and is best used from March until October. It contains meadows and woodlands and is home to a wide variety of fauna and flora, including Mexican buckeye and large mammals.

McAllister Park Blue Loop Trail - San Antonio

This park features beautiful wildflowers and offers outdoor activities that are accessible year-round. Your paw friends are welcome to explore the area as well.
